An Didcot Paedophile from Oxfordshire, Mark Clibbon, has been incarcerated for engaging in sexual correspondence with someone he presumed to be a 13-year-old girl.
Mark Clibbon, residing at Lockinge Close, Didcot, admitted guilt to attempting to provoke sexual conduct with a 13-year-old girl and to attempting to engage in sexual correspondence with a minor.
At his sentencing on August 18 at Oxford Crown Court, it was revealed that Mark Clibbon was engaging with a decoy account established by an internet paedophile hunter organisation.
The court was informed that the 49-year-old, Mark Clibbon, initiated communication with the decoy account in March of this year, and the messages commenced on an application designated for individuals aged 18 and older.
The communications subsequently transitioned to WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger.
The court was informed that upon his arrest, Mark Clibbon acknowledged that his actions were ‘foolish’.
The court was informed that Mark Clibbon intended to instruct the ‘female’ on self-pleasure and demonstrated the act to her.
Clibbon desired to conduct video chats with the ‘female’ and instructed ‘her’ to erase the footage shared between them.
The messages ended up with Mark Clibbon wanting to meet the ‘girl’ so he could ask her ‘explicit questions in a yes or no game’.
The court heard Mark Clibbon ‘asked where she wanted him to touch her’.
Sentencing Mark Clibbon, Judge Maria Lamb said: “In March you contacted what you thought was a 13-year-old girl and had explicit communications with her.
“You encouraged her to masturbate and sent a video of you masturbating.
“You know what you were doing because you asked her to delete the videos.
“Luckily for you this was a decoy. I can’t be sure if you would have met up with her as agreed.
“This is an isolated piece of conduct. You have no previous convictions. You have to take full responsibility for the way you acted.”
The Judge sentenced Mark Clibbon to 20 months in prison. He was also made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order and must complete notification requirements for 10 years.
