Mark Barnes, the Great Chishill Paedophile and Sex Offender, was convicted of distributing child sexual imagery and was sentenced to two years and four months in prison.

Mark Barnes, 43, was discovered in possession of many mobile phones when law enforcement authorities conducted a visit to his residence on Wallers Close, Great Chishill, near Royston, on January 11, 2024.

This violated a court order from January 2014, when he was designated as a sex offender.

The phones and tablets indicated that he had disseminated 14 category A (the most serious), five category B, and 25 category C indecent images of children from July 2022 to March 2023.

Mark Barnes had produced over 2,000 obscene images of children: 628 classified as category A, 496 as category B, and 1,163 as category C.

He asserted that he was borrowing a phone from his neighbour; however, the authorities discovered an additional phone carrying explicit photographs in a suitcase beneath a bed.

Mark Barnes appeared before Peterborough Crown Court on Tuesday, November 4. He confessed to producing and disseminating indecent images of minors, noncompliance with the Sex Offenders Register, and violating a sexual offences prevention order.

Mark Barnes was incarcerated and issued an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), prohibiting him from possessing any gadget capable of internet connection.

He was prohibited from utilising any remote storage devices, including cloud storage, and will be subject to mandatory notification requirements indefinitely.

All gadgets confiscated by the police have been obliterated.
