Manzorr Hussain and Imtiaz Ali, the Bury and Radcliffe Grooming Gang Paedophiles, were convicted today (Monday, 27 October 2025) at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court for the systematic grooming and sexual exploitation of vulnerable adolescent females in Bury during the late 1990s.
The jury unanimously convicted the men on all 24 charges presented during the trial.
Manzorr Hussain (18/08/1971) of Bury was found guilty of:
- Seven counts of rape
- Six counts of indecent assault
Imtiaz Ali (03/01/1972) of Radcliffe was found guilty of:
- Five counts of rape
- Five counts of indecent assault
- One count of an attempted indecent assault
Manzorr Hussain and Imtiaz Ali were convicted after an intricate and protracted investigation conducted by Greater Manchester Police. The incidents occurred between 1996 and 2000, involving five victims aged 13 to 16 at the time.
The court was informed that Hussain and Ali preyed upon susceptible girls. Manzorr Hussain and Imtiaz Ali manipulated the victims by providing beer, drugs, financial incentives, and transportation in their vehicles before inflicting continuous sexual assault in residences, automobiles, and various sites in Bury and regions of Wales.
The abuse was systematically executed and prolonged, with victims frequently feeling beholden to the perpetrators. In several instances, they were threatened or pressured into engaging in sexual behaviours.
Manzorr Hussain and Imtiaz Ali, cousins, operated market stalls then, facilitating their initial encounters with other girls.
Following their abuse allegation to law enforcement in September 2018, the victims have consistently received assistance from specialised officers and affiliated organisations.
The initial victim’s complaint facilitated the identification of more victims, who were later interrogated and supported during the judicial proceedings.
Manzorr Hussain and Imtiaz Ali were apprehended in May 2021 and declined to provide statements during police interrogations.
The jury received persuasive evidence, comprising video interviews and witness testimonies, which elucidated the severity of the abuse and its repercussions on the victims.
In close collaboration with the Crown Prosecution Service, officers and prosecutors successfully constructed a compelling case against Manzorr Hussain and Imtiaz Ali.
Throughout the trial, the prosecution presented a meticulously constructed case that integrated multiple pieces of evidence corroborating the victims’ statements.
Despite the passage of many years, the complainants were able to recollect exact addresses and locations where the abuse occurred.
This, in conjunction with supplementary evidence—such as historical documents from social services and educational institutions—furnished critical data that assisted in establishing timelines and associating the defendants with specific locations and times of the purported acts.
Sentencing is scheduled for Monday, December 8, 2025, at Manchester Crown Court.
