A convicted Northampton rapist, Lucian Major, has received a sentence of two years and six months in jail for approaching a lady in Northampton.
In 2017, Lucian Major, formerly of Northampton, was found guilty of engaging in sexual intercourse with a minor under the age of 16.
A representative from Northamptonshire Police stated: “Notwithstanding stringent conditions, the 33-year-old approached a woman he was prohibited from contacting in July 2021 and attempted to engage her in conversation.”
The woman photographed him and promptly contacted the police. Lucian Major was subsequently apprehended.
Lucian Major attempted to refute that the individual in the photograph was himself, notwithstanding the fact that he was wearing the same distinctive trainers while in detention as depicted in the image.
A bank card was discovered in his possession, which he had not disclosed to the authorities, leading to his subsequent arrest for violating his notification obligations,” stated the spokeswoman.
Following a three-day trial at Northampton Crown Court last week (January 12), Lucian Major was found guilty of both charges and sentenced to two years and six months of incarceration, according to police reports.
Lead Investigator, PC James Brookes, said: “Sexual harm prevention orders are put in place for a reason and not only did Lucian Major breach his, he continued to try and deny it, even going so far as to refuse to accept the man in the photograph was him.
“This woman has gone through enough in her life without having to ever see or speak to Lucian Major again so I am pleased that he has been sent to prison for this offence. I would like to thank her for bravery in standing in court and giving evidence.
“Northamptonshire Police take sexual offences extremely seriously and I hope this case shows that we will always act quickly and robustly when offenders breach their very strict conditions.”
