The Offender Database has reported that Lewis Hartley, a 24-year-old Blackburn Rapist and Sex Offender, has been sent to prison.
On May 13, 2023, he encountered his victim on an evening outing in Darwen. During the evening outing, Lewis Hartley enquired whether he should approach the victim, to which she declined, stating her desire to sleep. In the early hours of 14th May, he entered the victim’s residence accompanied by one of her acquaintances.
As the victim’s buddy prepared to depart, Lewis Hartley feigned slumber.
Lewis Hartley raped and sexually attacked the victim while she was alone.
Lewis Hartley thereafter utilised her mobile phone to summon a taxi.
Lewis Hartley, previously residing at Minnie Terrace, Blackburn, but currently without a permanent address, was apprehended two days later. He was later indicted on two charges of rape and one charge of sexual assault.
Lewis Hartley was convicted of all charges after a trial at Preston Crown Court in September of this year.
He returned to the same court on Monday, where he was incarcerated for five years. He was additionally mandated to register on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
