Back in 2022, Levi Seriki-Walters, the Gosport Rapist, 35, of no fixed address, was sentenced at Portsmouth Crown Court today (May 10).
The court was informed that law enforcement was sent to the business parking facility adjacent to The Anchorage at approximately 1:40 AM on August 27, 2020, following reports from witnesses who heard a woman pleading for assistance.
Officers responded and conversed with the woman, in her twenties, who was discovered by bystanders in a state of anxiety.
She informed the police that she had been physically assaulted and subsequently raped by an acquaintance, Levi Seriki-Walters.
Authorities subsequently apprehended and indicted Levi Seriki-Walters for rape.
The court was informed that Levi Seriki-Walters was captured on CCTV pursuing the woman from the location, and forensic investigations corroborated that he had sexually assaulted her.
Notwithstanding the evidence presented, he refuted the allegation, and the case proceeded to trial in April of this year.
On Tuesday, April 12, the jury rendered a verdict of guilty against Levi Seriki-Walters following nearly two and a half hours of deliberation.
