In 2022, Lee Williams, a Cardiff Rapist, now 35, was sentenced to life imprisonment at Cardiff Crown Court after admitting to 28 charges of rape, sexual conduct with a minor, and sexual assault by penetration.

Lee Williams, a resident of the Pentwyn region, will serve a minimum sentence of nine years and four months in prison.

Following the sentencing, Detective Constable Laura Slocombe of the Rape Investigation Team in Rumney stated, “I wish to express my gratitude to the five victims who provided testimony that led to Williams’ incarceration.”

“They exhibited remarkable bravery in coming forward, and I hope the sentence imposed by the Court provides some closure to the victims and their families.”

This inquiry and the ensuing conviction convey a clear message that South Wales Police has a zero-tolerance policy towards violence against women and girls, and we will exhaust all avenues to ensure justice is delivered to offenders.

In sentencing Lee Williams, the Recorder of Cardiff, Judge Tracey Lloyd, stated: “Your actions have inflicted considerable trauma upon all of them; some of your victims have experienced feelings of guilt, yet they bear no responsibility for such feelings.” The culpability and the obligation rest solely with you.

Lee Williams was subjected to sex offender notification obligations, a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and an indeterminate restraining order for all his victims.
