Back in 2016, a Caernarfon Sex Offender, “sexual predator” Kevin Roscoe, who lured his victim into a recording studio with the promise of making her a singing star, was jailed for 10 years.

Kevin Roscoe, now 67, from Caernarfon, Gwynedd, was convicted in October of four counts of rape and two indecent assaults dating from the 2000s.

He was sentenced at Mold Crown Court on Thursday and must register as a sex offender for life. Judge Philip Harris-Jenkins said he had “callously used” his teenage victim.

The judge, who appeared via television link from Newport Crown Court, said Kevin Roscoe repeatedly raped the girl after “luring” her to the recording studio.

He described him as a “controlling sexual predator” who placed her in a position where she could not refuse his demands for sex.

‘Emotional scars’ During sentencing, Kevin Roscoe, who had denied all the offences, called out from the dock, “It didn’t happen.”

Det Con Chris Arkell, of North Wales Police’s Amethyst team, which investigates serious sexual offences, said:

“Mr Kevin Roscoe has abused the trust that a young teenage girl placed in an adult, leaving lifelong emotional scars. I hope that this result today goes some way in healing this hurt.”
