In 2026, the Offender Database reported that Kevin Gray, then 42, of Perth, was sentenced at Perth Sheriff Court. Gray, a director of a Broughty Ferry window cleaning firm, admitted to charges of voyeurism and the making of indecent images of a child.
The investigation began when the mother of a schoolgirl checked an iPad belonging to Gray. She discovered a folder marked “hidden” which contained images and videos of her daughter, including footage taken via a camera Gray had installed in a bathroom. When interviewed by Police Scotland, Gray admitted to using the camera and stated he had become attracted to the child.
Sentencing and Conduct Requirements
At the sentencing hearing, the court reported that Gray had sought help from a psychotherapist. Sheriff William Wood described the offences as a breach of trust.
The court imposed the following:
- Unpaid Work: 120 hours of unpaid work as an alternative to a prison sentence.
- Supervision: Three years of supervision.
- Rehabilitation: A requirement to engage with the Moving Forward to Change programme.
- Conduct Restrictions: Gray was ordered not to go near children or playparks without permission from a supervisor.
“Educational” Company Formation
The court reported that Gray incorporated a new company on 19 November 2025, days before his initial court appearance. The firm’s objectives include “educational support services” and “social work activities.”
Paperwork for the company lists goals such as:
- Collaborating with schools, faith groups, and mental health professionals.
- Providing education and counselling regarding porn addiction.
- Raising awareness of digital harms and recovery.
While Gray initially denied the details in court, the company registration confirms his role as a director and the intent to work with community organisations.
Sentence and Registration Requirements
For his offences in Perth and Broughty Ferry, Kevin Gray was:
- Placed on the Sex Offenders Register for five years.
- Subjected to a Community Payback Order.
The court was told that Gray had been the victim of an assault and vandalism following his guilty plea.
Monitoring and Public Protection
Gray is managed under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) by Police Scotland. His residency in Perth and his business activities in Broughty Ferry remain under scrutiny.
As a registered sex offender, Gray must comply with notification requirements. Police Scotland state that individuals on the register are subject to conditions to manage their conduct in the community. Any breach of his supervision or conduct requirements will result in his return to Perth Sheriff Court.
