In 2019, the Offender Database reported that Kennedy Grey, a Fife Paedophile Child Molester, who sexually assaulted two young children, was apprehended after one victim disclosed the abuse to the other during a game of “social workers.”
Kennedy Grey was convicted of assaulting children aged eight and 13 when the abuse commenced, after a trial at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.
The then 55-year-old resident of Lundin Links commenced inappropriate contact with the youngest victim in March 2011 at locations throughout the Levenmouth region.
She recounted how he seized her hand and placed it inside his trousers as they were seated together on the couch watching television.
The child, whose identity cannot be disclosed for legal reasons, stated that her abuser subsequently remarked, “Let’s not inform anyone about this.” Let us keep this matter confidential.
On another occasion, she recounted how Kennedy Grey entered her mother’s bedroom clad only in a towel before exposing himself to her.
She stated that the individual would also repeatedly touch her on the buttocks.
The child subsequently disclosed the assault to the second victim during a 2014 role-playing game focused on social work.
The second victim subsequently informed relatives that Kennedy Grey had aimed at both individuals.
Upon interrogation by the authorities, the youngest victim asserted that the assault had not occurred, apprehensive that her family would not believe her.
She reported the abuse once more in 2017, resulting in charges against Kennedy Grey.
The jury additionally convicted him of sexually assaulting the second victim from March 2013 to July 2014 at a location near Buckhaven.
He persistently endeavoured to induce her to touch him, made physical contact with her bottom and breasts, tickled her body, and directed sexual comments towards her.
The jury found one charge against Kennedy Grey not proven, while the majority rendered guilty verdicts on the other four counts of sexual assault.
Sheriff Alastair Thornton postponed sentencing pending background reports and mandated Kennedy Grey to register as a sex offender.
UPDATE
As usual for Scottish Justice, the child molester Kennedy Grey was not sent to prison.
Sheriff Alastair Thornton placed Kennedy Grey on the sex offenders register for a period of five years.
He also put him under two years of supervision and banned him from having any unauthorised and unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 16.
The sex offender must disclose any new relationships or friendships to his supervising officer.
Kennedy Grey must also perform 250 hours of unpaid work within nine months and was given a six-month restriction of liberty order.
Kennedy Grey smirked at the victims’ families after narrowly avoiding a jail sentence.
