Kelsey Bainbridge, the Spennymoor Transgender Thug, has confessed to perpetrating two violent assaults during a tumultuous event that was recorded and then disseminated on social media.

Kelsey Bainbridge, 26, of Ox Close Crescent, Spennymoor, appeared before Durham Crown Court via video link from HMP New Hall in Wakefield, where she is still in custody.

The court was informed that on July 6, Kelsey Bainbridge assaulted a man with a broken plate, resulting in injury, and beat a woman with a wine bottle during the same incident.

Kelsey Bainbridge confessed to attempting to cause serious physical harm to the male victim with the plate and acknowledged possession of an offensive weapon, specifically a shovel, during the event.

She, however, refuted the allegation of inflicting injury against the female victim with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm when she struck her with the bottle. She then acknowledged a reduced charge of unlawful wounding without intent.

Prosecutor Shaun Dryden informed the court that Kelsey Bainbridge’s acknowledgement of the lower offence had not been accepted by the Crown Prosecution Service, indicating that she may still undergo trial for the more serious charge.

Judge Richard Bennett ordered Kelsey Bainbridge to remain in custody and set a full-day trial for December 11, indicating that her guilty pleas to further crimes will be evaluated in the interim.

The incident has garnered attention following the dissemination of footage depicting violence on social media, eliciting considerable anxiety among local residents.
