The Offender Database reported that Jose Martin Holden, the Worcester Rapist, 32, of George Street, was sentenced at Worcester Crown Court on Friday, August 1, 2025
On August 4, the authorities published a custody photograph of Holden for the first time.
He was convicted of two counts of rape, assault by penetration, and sexual assault after a trial at Worcester Crown Court from June 9 to June 13.
Jose Martin Holden was acquitted of the charge of attempted penetration assault.
During sentencing, His Honour Judge Jackson classified Jose Martin Holden as a dangerous offender and rejected the defence’s mitigating circumstances related to his learning challenges.
The Judge informed the court that Jose Martin Holden’s remarks about women during his detention were “dehumanising.”
In court, the Judge stated: “You lack awareness of your conduct…”There exists a considerable chance of you inflicting additional harm upon other women.
Jose Martin Holden received a 20-year jail sentence for count 1 (rape), plus an additional five years on licence.
He received an eight-year sentence for count 2 (assault by penetration), a two-year term for count 4 (sexual assault), and a ten-year sentence for count 5 (rape).
All the aforementioned sentences will be served concurrently with the 20-year imprisonment on count 1.
The court determined that Jose Martin Holden must serve a minimum of two-thirds of his sentence prior to becoming eligible for a parole board hearing.
He was issued an indefinite restraining order prohibiting any direct or indirect contact with the victims.
One of Jose Martin Holden’s victims told the court in a victim impact statement how delays in the case have made her feel as though she has “already served a four-year sentence”.
She told the court: “The consequences of his actions have rippled into every part of my life.
“You’ve destroyed parts of me, but you will not destroy the new life I am beginning.”
