A Hucknall Paedophile sex offender, Jordan Haskard, attacked a police staff member while attempting to obliterate incriminating data on his mobile phone.
Jordan Haskard, 28 years old, initially surrendered the device to officers during the execution of a warrant at his residence in July 2024.
Disturbed by its contents, he reconsidered and lunged at the digital media officer possessing the folding device, seizing it and attempting to break it in half.
The rationale for his actions would soon be elucidated when the device was discovered to harbour chats and recordings pertaining to egregious instances of child sexual assault.
Jordan Haskard initially attracted the notice of Nottinghamshire Police in June 2022 when police in a different region discovered social media communications in which he conversed about the sexual exploitation of youngsters with another individual.
He also orchestrated for the individual to provide a video depicting the sexual abuse of a toddler, specifying particular elements he want to observe.
The video that resulted in the perpetrator’s conviction was subsequently discovered on Jordan Haskard’s former mobile phone during his detention, along with roughly 600 explicit photographs.
While on bail for those charges, Jordan Haskard attracted police scrutiny once more after one of his social media accounts was connected to the dissemination of banned photographs.
It was at this point that the phone he tried to destroy was found covered in clothes by the side of his bed.
As well as Category A rated images of child sexual abuse, the device was also found to contain discussions about the abduction and rape of children, as well as extreme images of animals.
Jordan Haskard, formerly of Hucknall, later pleaded guilty to two counts of arranging the commission of a child sex offence, four counts of making an indecent image of a child, two counts of distributing indecent images of children, possessing an extreme pornographic image of an animal, and causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.
Appearing at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday, he was given an extended sentence of 24 years and seven months.
The sentence consists of a jail term of 16 years and seven months and an extended licence period of eight years, during which he will immediately be returned to prison if he breaches the terms of his release.
He was also made the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order that will tightly restrict his online activities and access to children when he is eventually released.
