A Low Seaton Village Paedophile, Jonsen Lamb, has been sentenced to 20 months in prison for making online sexual propositions to a police officer whom he thought was a 12-year-old girl.
Jonsen Lamb was unaware that he was conversing with and making sexual propositions to an undercover officer in April, as presented in Carlisle Crown Court.
The 26-year-old from Low Seaton Village, near Workington, admitted to attempted sexual communication with a minor and attempting to get a child to observe a sexual act.
He also acknowledged violating sex offender notification obligations by neglecting to inform the police of changes to his personal information.
Jonsen Lamb has been obligated to adhere to notification rules since April 2021, when he received a community penalty and was mandated to participate in rehabilitation for engaging in sexualised internet communication with a decoy he perceived to be a minor.
The court was informed that, during the recent event, despite the evident indication that the “girl” was more than half his age, Lamb transmitted a series of sexual propositions along with explicit still and moving photographs.
He requested that images be supplied to him and enquired about the possibility of the pair convening.
Following two days of online communication, the operative concluded their conversation.
Jonsen Lamb was apprehended and relinquished a phone on which law enforcement discovered the communication thread subsequent to his provision of the device’s PIN.
Judge Michael Fanning described Lamb as a “considerably perilous young man” who presented a “significant threat to children”.
In addition to the prison sentence, he will be have to comply with sex offender notification regulations for a duration of 10 years.
