John Hamilton, apprehended for possessing child pornography, claimed he was attempting to reform by studying the guitar and engaging with podcasts.

The paedophile was incarcerated for two years in 2011 for the possession, downloading, and distribution of indecent photographs of minors.

The 27-year-old, John Hamilton, from Widnes was mandated to register on the Sex Offenders Register and received a 10-year Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO).

That prohibited him from possessing a photograph of any child under 16, unless they were a family member and he had permission from their parent or guardian.

When John Hamilton contacted the police in November 2019 to report a new mobile phone, authorities uncovered 1,205 photographs of children on his previous device.

The individual, currently residing in Liverpool’s historic Gambier Terrace in the Georgian Quarter, admitted to downloading thousands of disturbing files.

John Hamilton, aged 37, possessed 515 indecent photos of minors and an additional 690 non-indecent images of individuals under 16.

He acknowledged violating his Sexual Offences Prevention Order and one count of possession, along with three charges of downloading obscene photos of children.

John Hamilton was incarcerated for 18 months.
