Jeremy Morrish, from Ottery St Mary, East Devon, transmitted indecent webcam photographs of himself to individuals he believed were two 13-year-old females, who were, in fact, members of the UK Database group – https://www.facebook.com/UKdatabaseREAL.
He participated in sexualised online conversations with the two decoys, who continually informed him that they were merely 13 years old.
He scheduled a meeting with one of them outside a pizzeria on Cowick Street, Exeter.
Jeremy Morrish, then 46, a recycling worker from St Budeaux Close, confessed to seeking to meet a minor after grooming and engaging in attempted sexual conversation with a child.
On Friday, January 25, Jeremy Morrish received a 12-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, and was mandated to participate in sex offender treatment for 30 days of rehabilitative activities.
Judge Peter Johnson at Exeter Crown Court placed him on the sex offenders registry for ten years and prohibited unsupervised contact with children for the same duration. His internet behaviour will be watched by law enforcement.
Heather Hope, the prosecutor, stated that Jeremy Morrish employed his fabricated online persona, Tom44, on chat room platforms, where both decoys maintained profiles indicating they were 18 years old.
