In 2013, the Offender Database reported that Jeremy Forrest, 31, of Eastbourne, was sentenced at Lewes Crown Court.

Jeremy Forrest was jailed for five-and-a-half years after being convicted of abduction and admitting to five counts of sexual activity with a child. The court heard that Jeremy Forrest, a maths teacher, fled to France with a 15-year-old schoolgirl, an action the judge described as causing “appalling distress” to the victim’s family.

Jeremy Forrest was banned from contacting the victim as part of an ongoing serious case review by East Sussex County Council. Authorities emphasised that Jeremy Forrest is a convicted sex offender and that all contact must be strictly controlled to ensure the safety and well-being of the teenager involved.
