In 2026, the Offender Database reported that Jayden Connor, 19, of Lower Broughton, Salford (bail address: Gorton, Manchester), was jailed for eight years following a “serious” and “vile” campaign of grooming and rape. The offences began in 2023 when Connor was 17, and his victim was just 12 years old. He was sentenced at Bolton Crown Court on 15 January 2026.
The investigation by Greater Manchester Police revealed that Connor “callously” groomed the young girl through private messages on her phone. The abuse was uncovered by the victim’s mother, who found the messages and alerted the authorities. Connor was arrested on 9 April 2024 and subsequently pleaded guilty to two counts of raping a girl under 13, two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, and two counts of taking indecent photographs of a child.
Impact on the Victim and Family
The court heard horrendous testimony regarding the physical and mental impact of Connor’s “vicious” actions. The survivor reported that she struggled to attend school and lived in constant fear. She stated that she can only now “go out without looking over my shoulder.” The victim’s mother emphasised the life-changing trauma caused by the abuse, noting that she now fears for the safety of her children around everyone she meets.
Sentencing and Public Protection
In addition to his eight-year custodial sentence, Jayden Connor was handed a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and an indefinite restraining order to protect the survivor. Detective Constable Hannah Young praised the victim’s “tremendous courage” and emphasised that the police will always listen and take action against such “predatory behaviour.”
As a result of his convictions for rape and child sex offences, Jayden Connor will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life. He is managed under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) by Greater Manchester Police, ensuring his behaviour and digital access in Bolton, Gorton, and Salford are strictly monitored upon his release. Any attempt to contact the victim or breach his SHPO will result in an immediate return to prison.
