In 2026, the Offender Database reported that Jassey Snooks, then 44, of Wood Lane, Chippenham, was sentenced at Winchester Crown Court. On Tuesday, 20 January 2026, Snooks received a 15-month suspended prison sentence after being convicted of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
The investigation established that Snooks targeted her half-sister between 2008 and 2010. Snooks was then 26, and the victim was then 13. The “manipulative” behaviour involved involving the child in sex shows with men over webcam sites, sharing explicit photographs, and encouraging the child to masturbate. A witness reported seeing the pair posing in underwear and engaging in “longer lasting” kisses for men online.
Abuse of Trust and Conviction
Snooks was previously employed as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) teaching assistant at Hardenhuish School in Chippenham. The court heard she provided the victim with drink and drugs and purchased a fake ID so the teenager could accompany her to clubs.
Following a trial on 8 December 2025, a jury unanimously convicted Snooks of incitement. The victim waived her right to anonymity to ensure Snooks could be named. Judge Bromige noted the “serious” nature of the allegations, which included sexualising a child in a “depraved” manner for the gratification of men online.
Sentence and Statutory Requirements
For her crimes in Wiltshire, Jassey Snooks was handed the following:
- Custodial Sentence: 15 months imprisonment, suspended for 18 months.
- Unpaid Work: 175 hours to be completed in the community.
- Rehabilitation: 30 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
- Sex Offenders Register: Snooks must sign the register for 10 years.
- Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO): A 10-year order restricting her activities and contact.
Monitoring and Public Protection
Snooks is managed under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) by Wiltshire Police. Her status as a former school employee who abused a position of trust remains under scrutiny.
As a member of the Sex Offenders Register until 2036, Snooks must comply with strict notification requirements regarding her address and employment. Wiltshire Police state that they will monitor her compliance with the SHPO to protect the public. Any breach of her suspended sentence conditions or the terms of her order will result in her immediate return to Winchester Crown Court to serve the 15-month term in full.
