A Dundee Paedophile, James Grieve Donaldson, aka James Murray, has been sentenced to indefinite imprisonment for the sexual abuse of two adolescent boys and a vulnerable adult.

James Grieve Donaldson, also referred to by the surname Murray, was convicted of four offences after a trial at the High Court in Glasgow.

The court was informed that the 59-year-old sexually assaulted two minors from 1991 to 1995.

He pursued both youngsters at multiple sites within the Dundee region, including within his vehicle and residence.

James Grieve Donaldson was additionally convicted of sexually assaulting an adult male, who was unconscious and incapable of consenting, on a specific occasion in 2018.

On 9 September 2025, the High Court in Glasgow imposed an Order for Lifelong Restriction (OLR) on James Grieve Donaldson.

James Grieve Donaldson is required to serve a minimum of two years and six months in custody prior to becoming eligible for community release as determined by the Parole Board.

His name has been permanently included on the sex offenders register, and a perpetual non-harassment order has also been issued.
