In 2023, James Ford, the Hurstbourne Tarrant Sex Offender, 33, perpetrated a series of alarming assaults on two teenagers and two women in Andover. The flasher was sentenced to two years in prison at Winchester Crown Court.

The sexual assaults occurred on June 23, commencing at approximately 1 PM, when a 29-year-old lady was on Anton Lane and was approached by James Ford, who was cycling past her. He thereafter dismounted from his bicycle, lowered his trousers, and engaged in indecent self-touching in her presence.

Shortly thereafter, James Ford rode by a 17-year-old girl and perpetrated a sexual assault against her. This occurred at the intersection of Colonzo Drive and Vigo Road.

At approximately 2:45 PM, officers got a report from a 23-year-old woman who observed a man engaging in masturbation in the bushes at Picket Twenty.

On the same day, James Ford also attacked a 14-year-old girl. Approximately at 4 PM, the victim was traversing Anton Lane Path when Ford rode by and perpetrated a sexual assault against her.

Subsequent to police investigations, James Ford was apprehended at his residence on 24 June. During their visit to his residence, detectives confiscated a bicycle that corresponded with the description provided by the victims.

James Ford, residing at Dines Close, Hurstbourne Tarrant, Andover, Hampshire, SP11, admitted guilt to two charges of sexual assault, two charges of indecent exposure, and violating a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

In addition to his two-year incarceration, James Ford was issued a seven-year restraining order for each victim, and his Sexual Harm Prevention order was modified to incorporate additional restrictions.

Detective Sergeant Mike Jarvis stated, “James Ford’s conduct towards these women is highly concerning, and I am pleased that he has been held responsible for his actions.”

“I trust this outcome conveys a definitive message that we regard these reports with utmost seriousness and will conduct a comprehensive investigation.” I am gratified that we have attained justice for these victims. Mitigating violence against women and girls continues to be a paramount priority, and in collaboration with other agencies, we engage in extensive efforts to address this issue.
