A 35-year-old man, James Chater, the Sleaford Rapist and Sex Offender, found guilty of rape, harassment, and non-fatal strangling, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.
James Chater, previously from the Sleaford region, was sentenced for the counts during his appearance at Lincoln Crown Court on Friday, 7 November.
James Chater admitted to two crimes in a prior trial; however, he denied the rape allegation before ultimately being convicted.
The offences occurred in the vicinity of Sleaford.
James Chater received a 12-year term, was placed on the sex offender registry, and was issued a sexual harm prevention order upon his court appearance. He has been incarcerated without delay.
