In 2023, James Alman, the Gibraltar Paedophile, was convicted of sexually abusing two young children and was sentenced to nearly two years in prison by the Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
James Alman, 69, was found guilty on 15 charges of engaging in sexual behaviour with a minor under the age of 16 during a trial in October.
The events occurred more than ten years ago.
Stipendiary Magistrate Charles Pitto stated that James Alman exhibited no contrition while persistently refuting the claims to the present day.
During the sentence, Mr Pitto characterised Mr James Alman’s acts as involving “betrayal” and “grooming.”
He emphasised the adverse effects this had on the victims, stating that James Alman had “cast a shadow over their lives.”
Mr Pitto opted not to refer the case to the Supreme Court due to James Alman’s advanced age and deteriorating health.
He stated that this was the sole concession he could extend to the defendant.
James Alman received a sentence of 1 year and 11 and a half months.
Mr Pitto additionally instituted a Sexual Offenders Protection Order (SOPO) that forbids James Alman from residing or engaging in any unsupervised interaction with a female under the age of 16 for the subsequent 10 years.
Subsequent to the proceedings, the Royal Gibraltar Police released a press statement.
Detective Sergeant Jo Ullger of the Safeguarding Team stated that such criminal activity is unacceptable in the community.
“I am pleased that the victims and their families have attained closure, and I wish to express my gratitude to the officers involved in this case,” stated DS Ullger.
Kerrin Drago represented the Crown.
Shane Danino represented James Alman.
James Alman, the Gibraltar Paedophile, is out and looking for more young girls to “befriend”.
