The Blackburn Paedophile, Jake McMahon-Bates, aged 23, is a registered sex offender. Earlier this year, we received information regarding his recent criminal activity, which entailed sending two lewd videos of minors to Snapchat.

On May 1st of this year, our officers apprehended Jake McMahon-Bates at his residence on Witton Parade, Blackburn, on suspicion of possessing and disseminating obscene pictures of children.

Among the goods confiscated from the premises were Jake McMahon-Bates’ electronic gadgets.

Two of the confiscated devices had a total of 59 indecent photos of minors, the youngest of whom was four years old. Certain inappropriate photographs had been forwarded to other Snapchat users.

Evidence indicated that Jake McMahon-Bates had been in communication with a 15-year-old girl, enquiring whether she desired to engage in sexual relations with him.

Jake McMahon-Bates had also erased his online history, a violation of the Sexual Harm Prevention Order imposed in 2020, which was effective for five years.

Jake McMahon-Bates was subsequently charged with the creation and distribution of indecent photos of children, engaging in sexual conversation with a minor under 15, violating a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and the improper importation of indecent or obscene materials.

He acknowledged all the offences at his appearance at Preston Crown Court last month, where he entered a guilty plea for each charge.

He revisited the same court on Monday, where he was sentenced to two years of incarceration and issued a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
