The judge at Liverpool Crown Court handed down the sentence on Friday, 23 January 2026. Detective Inspector Steve O’Neill praised the victim for his courage in reporting the “horrific” attack, noting that the evidence gathered was pivotal in ensuring a dangerous individual was removed from the streets.
Monitoring and Public Protection
Momen is managed under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) by Merseyside Police. His status and his previous locations within Liverpool remain under scrutiny to ensure public safety.
As a lifetime member of the Sex Offenders Register, Momen must comply with notification requirements for the rest of his life. Merseyside Police state that they are committed to supporting survivors of sexual violence and will thoroughly investigate all reports. Any breach of his restraining order or registration conditions will result in his return to Liverpool Crown Court.
