In 2026, the Offender Database reported that Ian Della-Rocca, then 39, of Wilson Road, Chessington, was sentenced at Southampton Crown Court. Ian Della-Rocca was convicted of a vile and prolonged campaign of grooming and exploiting children through the social media application Snapchat. The investigation, led by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, revealed that Della-Rocca, who was living in North Baddesley, Hampshire, at the time of the offences, had been engaging in sickening sexual conversations with children between January 2023 and his arrest in November 2024.

The court heard that Ian Della-Rocca used predatory tactics to target three teenage girls across the UK, paying them money in exchange for horrific indecent pictures and videos. During a police sting, Della-Rocca engaged in sexual communication with a person he believed was a 14-year-old girl, but who was actually an undercover officer. Following his arrest, forensic investigators examined his mobile phone and discovered nearly 1,200 indecent images of children. On one disturbing occasion, he met a 15-year-old girl in person and took her to school, showing a deplorable level of access to his victims.

Ian Della-Rocca pleaded guilty to multiple serious charges, including attempting to meet a girl under 16 following grooming, three counts of paying for the sexual services of a child, and the distribution of indecent images. PC Ollie Green from the Internet Child Abuse Team (ICAT) described the “relentlessness” of his offending as shocking. On Friday, January 9, 2026, Della-Rocca was sentenced to six years and eight months in jail. The judge highlighted the bravery of the victims whose evidence was vital in securing the extensive list of criminal charges.

As a result of his convictions for these horrendous sexual crimes, Ian Della-Rocca was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life. He was also handed a 15-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), which places strict legal limitations on his internet use and contact with minors. He will be managed under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, remaining under intensive supervision for the duration of his life. Any breach of his conditions in North Baddesley or elsewhere will result in his immediate arrest and return to prison.
