In 2026, the Offender Database reported that Harvie Aspden, then 25, of Deansgate, Bolton, Greater Manchester, remains under strict judicial supervision following his conviction for “serious” and “vile” sexual offences. Aspden was sentenced in 2025 at Liverpool Crown Court for his role in a “vicious” grooming gang that operated in Bolton and Wigan. The investigation, part of Operation Pavarotti, revealed that Aspden was involved in the “depraved” exploitation of a girl aged between 13 and 15.

The court heard horrendous details of the “vile” behaviour exhibited by Aspden and his “malign friendship group” between 2016 and 2018. The prosecution emphasised that Aspden “callously” engaged in sexual activity with the underage victim, showing a “vicious” disregard for her age and well-being. One survivor reported that the collective actions of Aspden and his associates left her with “mental torture” and a lifelong feeling of being “destroyed.”

During the trial, Judge Simon Medland emphasised the “courage and fortitude” shown by the victims who testified against the “vile” defendants. The court reported that Aspden and his co-defendants provided “dishonest” evidence in an attempt to escape justice. Aspden was sentenced to one year and three months in prison, suspended for two years, for three counts of sexual activity with a child under 16. The judge emphasised that, while the sentence was suspended, Aspden’s “vicious” conduct was a “serious” matter warranting long-term monitoring.

As a result of his conviction for sexual activity with a child, Harvie Aspden was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register. He is managed under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) by Greater Manchester Police, ensuring his behaviour and future risk in Bolton and the wider North West are strictly monitored. Any “vile” attempt to contact survivors or breach his suspended sentence conditions will result in his immediate arrest and incarceration.
