Hucknall Paedophile Harry Palmer, who had been found guilty of sexual offences and had concealed illegal gadgets to sell them, has been incarcerated for repeatedly violating his court-issued order.

Harry Palmer, aged 22, was issued a sexual harm prevention order following his previous conviction for acts committed against a teenage girl.

The revised order, prompted by a prior violation, granted the police authority to surveil all of his electronic devices and restricted his interaction with females below the age of 18.

Detectives initiated an investigation upon receiving information from the probation department that Palmer had unlawfully sold a MacBook laptop without obtaining authorisation from the police.

Investigations revealed that Harry Palmer had sold a MacBook laptop, a Samsung tablet, and a Huawei mobile phone to CEX outlets in Coventry and Bulwell.

The Nottingham Crown Court was informed that the products were sold for a total amount of £142 on three occasions in August 2023. It was also revealed that the defendant had concealed the Samsung tablet and Huawei mobile phone from the authorities.

During the investigation of his address, law enforcement agents discovered four unregistered bank cards, which further violated the court order.

Harry Palmer, previously residing in Astral Grove, Hucknall, subsequently confessed to three violations of his sexual harm prevention order and four instances of non-compliance with notification obligations.

He was sentenced to a two-year imprisonment after appearing at Nottingham Crown Court on 30 August.

Harry Palmer had recently been freed from jail on parole for prior violations of the order and drug-related crimes.

Detective Constable Richard Johnson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“Safeguarding vulnerable young people is a crucial priority for Nottinghamshire Police, and we proactively monitor known offenders.

“These court orders are placed for an excellent reason, and we expect them to be obeyed. We will take swift action when we find that they are being disregarded so brazenly. As Harry Palmer just discovered, the subsequent punishments can be very severe.

“I hope this case serves as a reminder to other offenders about the potential consequences of attempting to deceive us, and also hope that members of the wider public will be reassured by our ongoing efforts to keep the public safe from harm.”

Sexual Harm Prevention Orders are often applied as part of offenders’ sentences and place strict controls on their behaviour.

Nottinghamshire Police has a specialist team of officers dedicated to managing registered sex offenders in the county.
