In 2025, the Offender Database reported that Elliot Small, 23, was found guilty of rape and several sexual assaults at Aberdeen’s High Court. Small, of Kintore, Aberdeenshire, began a campaign of offending when he was just 13 years old, targeting girls between the ages of 12 and 14.
The investigation by Police Scotland spanned several years and involved four victims who provided evidence during a trial lasting more than two weeks. The jury of eight women and seven men returned guilty verdicts for one count of rape, seven sexual assaults, and one charge of engaging in sexual activity with a child.
Persistence and Force
The court heard evidence of Small’s persistent and predatory behaviour across various locations in Aberdeenshire, including Kintore, Kemnay, and Aberdeen.
- Kintore Playpark: A victim aged 12 was assaulted during a game of truth or dare. Small ignored her orders to stop, telling her it would “all be over in a second.”
- Lasharmie Woods, Kemnay: A 13-year-old girl was dragged against a tree and repeatedly assaulted over seven days near the River Don. She testified that she pushed his hands away and told him to stop, but he refused.
- Aberdeen Beach Ballroom: A third victim was assaulted in a tunnel near the ballroom and at the playing fields when she was 12.
- Domestic Rape: A fourth victim was raped at Small’s parents’ house in Kintore. She described a violent attack where Small pinned her by the wrists and placed his hands around her throat, leaving her unable to breathe and “frozen” in terror.
Advocate depute Wojciech Jajdelski described Small as a “sinister” character with a sense of entitlement who did not understand the meaning of the word “no.”
Verdicts and Notification Requirements
Small shook his head in the dock as the guilty verdicts were delivered. For his crimes, Elliot Small was:
- Convicted of one count of rape.
- Convicted of seven counts of sexual assault.
- Convicted of one count of engaging in sexual activity with a child.
- Placed on the Sex Offenders Register (notification requirements).
Judge Andrew Miller deferred sentencing until next month to allow for background reports and a psychiatric assessment. The final length of his prison sentence and registration period will be determined at that time.
Monitoring and Public Protection
Upon sentencing, Small will be managed under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) by Police Scotland. His residency in Kintore and his future movements across Aberdeenshire will be under lifelong scrutiny.
As a convicted rapist and child abuser, he will be subject to strict conditions to prevent further contact with his victims or other vulnerable persons. Any attempt to breach these conditions or re-offend will result in immediate arrest and additional time in custody.
