A “callous and dangerous” Abercynon Paedophile Dean Williams who sexually attacked a 13-year-old girl in a park has been sentenced to four years and six months in prison.

Dean Williams, 29, of Avondale Street, Abercynon, received his sentence at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday, January 24.

In August 2022, 26-year-old Dean Williams raped his minor victim in a park in Caerphilly after adding her on Snapchat.

He received a term of four years and six months for engaging in sexual contact with a minor, in addition to an 18-month sentence for producing an indecent image of a child. The sentences will be served concurrently, indicating simultaneous execution.

Dean Williams will be registered as a sex offender eternally and has received a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for a duration of ten years.

Dean Williams is also mandated to remit a £228 victim surcharge, allocated for the financing of victim services, within six months of his release.

Detective Sergeant Michael Coles, of Gwent Police, thanked the victim for coming forward and showing “tremendous bravery and courage” throughout the investigation and court process.

DS Coles said: “By coming forward, they’ve helped put a callous and dangerous man behind bars.

“Dean Williams targeted a young, and therefore vulnerable, girl for his own sexual gratification and we welcome the sentence that has been imposed on him.

“I also hope this outcome shows other victims of rape and sexual offences that they will be listened to, believed and respected.”
