One of the victims of rapist David Simon, the Guernsey Paedophile, 73, stated that she continues to experience flashbacks, despite the crimes occurring in the 1980s.

Judge Russell Finch sentenced David Simon, from Guernsey, in the Channel Islands, to 15 years in prison for the rape and indecent assault of a child and a young lady, praising the two victims for their bravery in testifying at trial.

The other woman stated that she engaged in self-harm, attempted suicide, and that the judicial proceedings had ‘devastated her.’

David Simon, who persistently refuted his culpability, was convicted in November of 11 historical charges against the two women.

The charges were five counts of rape, five counts of indecent assault, and one count of gross indecency.

One of the rape counts and three of the indecent assault ones were specimen charges.

‘These are grave matters,’ Judge Finch said.

‘The victim impact statements are vivid and speak for themselves.

‘Each of these women has had their life affected by you, and indeed others, but that is not relevant to this case – predatory activities.’

He said the jurors found that the use of drugs, given to the victims, was a significant aggravating factor.
