Imprisonment for a registered Bamber Bridge Paedophile sex offender, David Hawkyard, following a police visitation:
In July 2025, officers conducted a standard visit to David Hawkyard, a registered sex offender, during which he exhibited suspicious behaviour and hesitated to surrender his personal devices.
David Hawkyard was apprehended on the grounds of allegedly violating his sexual harm prevention order, and during an investigation by officers from the ICE team, indecent images of minors were discovered on his devices.
Detectives filed three charges for the creation of obscene photographs of children and one charge for violating a Sexual Harm Prevention Order against David Hawkyard, who was subsequently remanded into custody.
David Hawkyard, 24, of Lady Acre, Bamber Bridge, acknowledged the allegations and was sentenced to 21 months of imprisonment at Preston Crown Court this week. He was issued an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), enabling law enforcement to meticulously oversee his online actions post-release.
