In 2023, David Fury-Walsh, the Macclesfield Rapist, a “violent bully” who fraudulently asserted a familial connection to boxing champion Tyson Fury, was incarcerated for the rape and coercion of three women.
David Fury-Walsh procured loans in the names of women, menaced their children, and physically abused them if they refused to engage in sexual acts, according to law enforcement authorities.
A 31-year-old individual from Macclesfield, Cheshire, was found guilty of 25 offences, including 13 counts of rape.
David Fury-Walsh was sentenced to 27 years in prison at Chester Crown Court.
The victims reported to the police that David Fury-Walsh, residing on Brook Street, was first benevolent and magnanimous, asserting a familial connection to the two-time world heavyweight champion.
However, it quickly became evident that he was a “fantasist” with a “darker side,” who commenced to mistreat and manipulate the ladies, as presented in court.
David Fury-Walsh, also identified as David Overton, coerced his victims into sexual acts on demand and subjected them to harsh assaults upon noncompliance.
He compelled his victims to consume their own excrement on two occasions.
He also managed the women’s finances, securing loans in their names and coercing them into relinquishing their funds under the false pretence of substantial returns that never materialised.
The magnitude of his abuse became apparent in September 2021 when one of the women revealed that he had raped and assaulted her.
David Fury-Walsh was apprehended, and during his detention, two other women emerged with allegations.
Detective Constable Jade Bannerman of Cheshire Police stated: “David Fury-Walsh was a violent and manipulative aggressor; however, due to the bravery of the three victims and the evidence we collected, the jury discerned his deceit, and he is now being held accountable.”
She commended the victims for their courage.
“Although they will never forget their experiences, and no punishment can truly atone for his actions, I hope that his incarceration offers them some semblance of closure,” she stated.
David Fury-Walsh received indefinite restraining orders against all three victims and was mandated to register as a sex offender for life.
