In 2023, the Offender Database reported that police had caught a fugitive, Daryl Taylor, who fled while receiving treatment at Ipswich Hospital.

According to Suffolk Police, Daryl Taylor was caught following an operation near Rendlesham on Wednesday night.
Along with Daryl Taylor, two other paedophile males were arrested for helping him.
“I want to thank the officers and staff involved in arresting Daryl Taylor this evening for their relentless efforts in locating him,” Supt Andy Martin said.
“It is right and proper that he now serves the terms of his recall and be presented to the courts on the charges against him.”
“We know that other people helped Daryl Taylor, sought for crimes related to child sexual offences and a prison recall, go undercover.
“We are aggressively seeking all information to bring those individuals to justice quickly.
“We would also want to thank public servants for their support.”

A guy who escaped from a hospital while under police custody was acquitted of several child sexual offences by a jury.
Daryl Taylor, 33, of Ipswich, Suffolk, faced trial at Ipswich Crown Court after being apprehended in Rendlesham, Suffolk, in August.
He was acquitted on two charges of participating in non-penetrative sexual conduct with a girl aged 13 to 15 and four charges of assaulting a minor under 13 through physical contact.
Mr Taylor previously confessed to evading legal custody after fleeing Ipswich Hospital while under arrest on 11 August.
