Darren Marsh, the Christchurch Paedophile, convicted of raping and sexually assaulting a minor, has been sentenced to five years in prison.
Darren Marsh (22) of The Strete perpetrated the charges on a minor under the age of 13 in New Milton last April.
Darren Marsh received a sentence at Southampton Crown Court on Friday after having pleaded guilty to rape and two charges of sexual assault.
Upon his release, Darren Marsh will undergo a 12-month extended licence period and will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order. He was mandated to register as a sex offender for life and prohibited from contacting the victim.
Following the case, Detective Constable Dawn Capper of the Child Abuse Investigation Team stated: I am gratified for the little victim that justice has been rendered for them and their family, and that Marsh has been incarcerated, where he rightfully belongs.
Although I recognise that this outcome will not erase the memory of Darren Marsh’s actions, I really hope it enables them to progress in their lives, reassured that he can no longer inflict pain on other children.
She expressed her hope that this statement would provide reassurance to other victims that their reports of similar situations would be acknowledged.
We urge further victims to step forward and communicate with us. We regard complaints of this sort with utmost seriousness and diligently strive to ensure that violators are held accountable.
This should serve as an unequivocal warning to other violators that we will relentlessly strive to achieve your prosecution.
I would also like to express my gratitude to all others who contributed to securing this conviction.
