In 2019, the Offender Database reported that Darren Hunt, a Worcester Paedophile Child Molester, a top fire safety official, was incarcerated for providing Amazon vouchers to a paedophile in return for access to rape a one-year-old baby.

Darren Hunt, then 50, who was employed by Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service, discussed the meeting online with Henry Ogden from Cumbria.

The National Crime Agency (NCA) initiated an investigation following a notification from Twitter, as previously reported to Stafford Crown Court.

Darren Hunt confessed to sexual offences involving minors and was sentenced to 22 months in prison.

Ogden, then 29, from Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, was jailed on Monday alongside Hunt, receiving a 31-month term after pleading guilty to five counts of disseminating obscene information.

The court was informed that Darren Hunt, characterised as a “respectable” family man and a long-serving, senior officer in the fire service, commenced communication with Ogden in March of the previous year.

Throughout their discussions over a three-month duration, he solicited Ogden, characterised in court as a “paedophile offender,” for access to a youngster.

Ogden, a father of a small child, stated he could not facilitate such an arrangement but proposed a meeting with a one-year-old infant instead.

Darren Hunt, residing on Blair Close in Worcester, enquired whether the mother would be in attendance and if Amazon vouchers would be an acceptable form of remuneration for Ogden, as said in court.

NCA officials intervened and notified West Mercia Police.

The court was informed that over 60 photographs of mistreated children were discovered on Hunt’s phone and computer, with the youngest victim being three months old, and both men were accused in June.

Darren Hunt admitted to three counts of creating or possessing indecent photos of minors and one count of organising, facilitating, and procuring a child sexual crime.

Judge Michael Chambers QC characterised the case as “horrifying.”

“This is undoubtedly a case that is truly appalling,” he informed Hunt.

“These are actual children being exploited by malevolent individuals, and it is solely due to paedophiles like you, viewing these images, that such exploitation transpires.”

He described Hunt’s actions as “shocking” and “truly appalling,” asserting that the public would “rightly be concerned” about his propensity to youngsters.
