Darren Glass, 30, exploited an underage female and inflicted repeated assault on a woman at various locations in Fife.

Darren Glass, a resident of Kirkcaldy in Fife, previously refuted multiple claims in an earlier trial but was found guilty of raping both women.

A judge at the High Court in Edinburgh informed him that, due to the nature and circumstances of the sexual charges, a substantial jail term was unavoidable.

Judge Simon Collins KC stated that he had seen victim impact statements outlining the repercussions of his offences on the women, including flashbacks and sleep disturbances.

He issued non-harassment orders prohibiting Darren Glass from contacting or attempting to contact the victims for a duration of 15 years.

Darren Glass perpetrated sexual assault and rape against a 15-year-old girl between November 1 and December 31, 2021, in a residence in Kirkcaldy.

Darren Glass also raped a woman between April 1 and June 30, 2021 at a house near Lochgelly, in Fife. The assault began when she was asleep but continued after she woke up. He also carried out a sex attack on her later that year at an address in Glenrothes.

Defence counsel Paul Nelson KC said that the previous offending was for road traffic offences and he has continued to deny the sex crimes in a background report prepared on him.

Darren Glass was told that he would be on the sex offenders register indefinitely following his sentencing.
