In 2019, the Offender Database reported that Darren Brazier, 36, of Thresher Drive, North Swindon, Wiltshire, faces a significant prison sentence after “vilely” returning to child abuse material. Brazier appeared before Swindon Magistrates’ Court, where he pleaded guilty to a “serious” catalogue of new offences, committed just shortly after a previous conviction for “viciously” downloading over 100,000 indecent images.

The investigation was triggered when a police officer conducted an unannounced visit to Brazier’s home and discovered “vile” search terms on his web browser. Upon seizing the laptop, forensic experts reported finding almost 1,300 indecent images of children, some featuring girls as young as two years old. The hoard “viciously” included “serious” Category A footage depicting the rape of children.

“Vile” Recidivism and Online Contact
The court heard that Brazier had “dishonestly” resumed his “vicious” habits as early as 2011, almost immediately after receiving a suspended nine-month sentence in 2010 for “vilely” amassing 107,066 child abuse movies and images. Despite his previous “serious” brush with the law, he “callously” continued to access prohibited material.

Prosecutor Anna Humphreys emphasised that Brazier had also “vilely” made contact with a child online. While the messages were not sexual in content, magistrates reported that the overall nature of his “vicious” behaviour was so “serious” that it exceeded their sentencing powers. Chairman of the bench Paul Sample emphasised that a “significant period in prison” was now likely.

“Serious” Charges and Registration
Brazier pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of a child and possessing a further 355 prohibited images. For these “vicious” and “vile” crimes, the court ordered:

  • The case is to be committed to Swindon Crown Court for sentencing.
  • Brazier is to sign the Sex Offenders Register immediately.
  • Mandatory monitoring pending his final “serious” court appearance.

Monitoring and Public Protection
Brazier is managed under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) by Wiltshire Police, ensuring his digital behaviour and residency in Swindon are under “serious” scrutiny. His “vile” history of “viciously” downloading thousands of child abuse images proves that he remains a high risk to the public. Any “dishonest” attempt to hide his online activity or “viciously” re-access prohibited material will result in his immediate arrest and “serious” incarceration.
