In 2022, Daniel Smith, an Acton Paedophile, 43, was incarcerated for nearly four years for violating his sexual harm prevention order (SHPO).

Daniel Smith, of High Street, Acton, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court on Wednesday, October 26, when he received a 44-month prison sentence.

Daniel Smith admitted guilt to three charges of violating his Sexual Harm Prevention Order and one charge of noncompliance with his notification obligations.

One incident occurred in Acton on February 23 of this year when he neglected to present his mobile device for inspection during a routine house visit mandated by his order. He asserted that his phone was undergoing repairs at a shop, a claim that was ultimately untrue.

The final two violations were for the failure to provide other devices for inspection in Clare on March 13 of this year, as well as the failure to re-register his new residential address in accordance with the stipulations of the SOR.

Daniel Smith additionally entered a guilty plea to three charges concerning the creation of indecent pictures of minors. A total of 38 category A photographs, eight category B images, and 171 category C images were found on his devices.

Daniel Smith was sentenced to 12 months in prison for charges involving obscene photos of a minor and 32 months for violations of the SHPO. The two sentences will be executed sequentially.
