On Friday, 16 January 2026, the Offender Database reported that Daniel Rowe, 35, formerly of Tiverton and Exeter, Devon, was jailed for 23 years at Exeter Crown Court. Rowe was convicted of three counts of rape following a trial where his remorseless and predatory nature was laid bare.

The investigation by Devon and Cornwall Police began after the victim bravely disclosed a series of vile attacks committed by Rowe. She described being terrified of the defendant, feeling unable to fight back due to the profound fear that he would cause her physical harm.

Vile Intimidation and Dishonest Defences
During the trial, the jury heard evidence of Rowe’s callous attempts to escape justice. The victim provided messages where Rowe had apologetically admitted to one of the attacks. However, after the crimes were reported, he callously pressured the victim to withdraw her statement and made evil threats to have others terrorise her.

Despite his dishonest claims to the police that the sexual activity had been consensual, the jury saw through his lies and found him guilty on all counts. The judge emphasised the serious nature of the offences and the added gravity of his witness-intimidation tactics.

Sentence and Registration
For his serious and evil crimes, Daniel Rowe was:

  • Sentenced to 23 years in prison.
  • Ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.
  • Subjected to a lifelong restraining order to protect the victim.

The 23-year sentence reflects the gravity of the repeated rapes and the vile nature of the threats he made to subvert the legal process.

Monitoring and Public Protection
Rowe is managed under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) by Devon and Cornwall Police. His residency and behaviour in Tiverton, Exeter, and the wider Devon area will be under serious lifelong scrutiny upon his release.

As a high-risk offender, any dishonest attempt to contact the victim or re-engage in predatory behaviour will result in his immediate recall to prison. His long sentence ensures that the public is protected from his callous and dangerous actions for a significant period.
