Daniel Corless, 39, the Thetford Sex Offender, positioned a mobile phone above a bathroom door to surreptitiously capture a woman who was oblivious to the surveillance.
The Norwich Magistrates’ Court was informed that the 35-year-old victim, whose identity is protected for legal reasons, was left in a state of terror regarding the potential dissemination of footage depicting her in the nude.
Daniel Corless, residing on Old Croxton Road in Thetford, admitted guilt to the offence of voyeurism for the purpose of sexual enjoyment.
Mr. Brown stated that following the woman’s disclosure of her concerns to the police, Daniel Corless’s mobile phone was confiscated by the officers.
The court was informed that the charges exceeded the custodial threshold, with a sentencing range of 12 weeks to 18 months of imprisonment.
Magistrates postponed his punishment until September 10 and mandated a study to evaluate “all options,” including immediate incarceration.
Daniel Corless was granted bail with stipulations prohibiting communication with the victim.
