Due in the dock for claims regarding child sex offences are a Country Down Paedophile Couple husband and wife. Following a police operation yesterday, the couple was accused of previous crimes against two children.
Thursday, March 28, the 61-year-old man and his 57-year-old wife were arrested at their house at about six in the morning. Both of them are accused of having grave past sexual transgressions.
While his wife is facing several charges connected to his alleged offending, the husband has been accused of several sexual offences, including historical gross indecency and one accusation of rape.
Belfast Live claims they were brought from their Country Down, Northern Ireland, house to the Antrim Custodial suite for an interview. According to the publication, both were 28-day charged and individually questioned at times over the day in Antrim.
Released just after 10 pm last night, they will appear in court on Thursday, April 25, while police officials still probe the claims.
Both sides were let go under tight bail terms linked to the claimed offences. Among the bail requirements are no interaction between the co-accused, who now live at different residences.
A PSNI spokesman said: ” Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland detained and charged a 61-year-old man for non-recent sexual offences.
“Also arrested and charged at the time for assisting and abetting additional charges was a 57-year-old lady. Both are expected before the April 24 Newry Magistrates’ Court.
