In 2019, the Offender Database reported that Christopher Taggart, a Bromley Paedophile Child Molester who solicited what he thought was a minor online, was incarcerated following his capture by a paedophile hunting group.

Christopher Taggart of Bromley, Greater London, entered a last-minute guilty plea while facing a trial for online grooming offences.

The court was informed that Christopher Taggart had reached out to the internet persona he presumed belonged to a youngster.

Christopher Taggart promptly transmitted sexually explicit communications with the explicit intention of grooming the girl for sexual engagement.

However, the youngster was nonexistent and was, in fact, an adult member of the paedophile hunting organisation ‘Shadow Hunters UK’. The team impersonates minors online to apprehend sexual predators.

The judge imposed a sentence of 50 months of incarceration.

An Indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) was enacted, and Christopher Taggart was included on both barring lists, prohibiting him from dealing with children and vulnerable persons.

Christopher Taggart was informed that he is required to register as a sex offender.
