An alleged rapist remains on police bail after a woman was raped in Boscombe.

Police officers continue to probe the sexual assault that happened at around 7am on November 30.

Concerned residents phoned 999 worried about the welfare of the woman in Christchurch Road, near to the junction with Ashley Road.

Following fast-time enquiries in the area by patrol officers, a man aged in his 20s was arrested in connection with the incident.

He has been released on police bail while investigating officers continue to carry out enquiries, a spokeswoman from Dorset Police said.

A police cordon was put up outside a flat in Christchurch Road throughout the day.

Detective inspector Darren Moores, of BCP CID, said: “Specialist officers are also continuing to support the victim.”
