A female beast nicknamed “The Bradford Bride of Frankenstein” from Bradford, Chevaune Houston, has received a five-year prohibition on animal ownership for leaving a dog in distress after inflicting significant open wounds.

Chevaune Houston, 23, received a ban after her Patterdale Terrier, Rock, was discovered with severe injuries on a blood-stained duvet.

The small dog had twelve absent teeth, along with other open sores and fractures.

Chevaune Houston, the girlfriend of infamous convicted badger baiter and sex offender Ben Wilson, was prosecuted by the RSPCA about a Patterdale terrier named Rock.

The court was informed that law enforcement visited Chevaune Houston’s residence on an unrelated issue on September 19, 2024.

Officers discovered the dog lying on a blood-stained duvet in the conservatory.

He exhibited tremors and bore two significant lacerations on his back, along with a minor incision on the front of his chest. There was no food or water for the dog.

Chevaune Houston, who had previously shown no signs of Rock’s injury, appeared to be astonished.

She informed the officers that one of her other dogs had assaulted him at 1 AM the prior morning—12 hours earlier—but stated she was unaware of the extent of his injuries.

When enquired whether she had transported him to an emergency veterinarian, she stated that she preferred not to lift Rock and potentially injure him, believing it would be more prudent for a veterinarian to visit her residence the following day.

She stated that she had reached out to an individual but could not furnish the cops with any call logs or text messages to substantiate her claim.

The police expressed concern that Rock was in a state of shock and had not received veterinary care for 12 hours.

Officers arranged for his removal for urgent medical treatment.

The RSPCA was notified and initiated an investigation.

The veterinarian who first attended to Rock reported multiple open wounds and contusions in the neck region.

He received analgesics, was sedated, and underwent clipping for the cleansing of his wounds.

The veterinarian assessed that the injuries were at least five days old, but probably over a week old.

Rock was subsequently transported to the RSPCA’s Greater Manchester Animal Hospital for additional inspection and care.

The veterinarian discovered that he had 12 absent teeth and one shattered tooth, in addition to healed lesions on his snout and above his left eye.

Full-thickness skin wounds observed on the dorsal and ventral aspects of the dog’s neck were presumed to be caused by bites or puncture injuries from a knife.

Chevaune Houston admitted guilt to a single violation of the Animal Welfare Act. The court was informed in mitigation that the offence was “out of character” for Houston.

After a few weeks, Rock was sufficiently recovered to be discharged from the hospital and subsequently transported to the charity’s Leeds, Wakefield & District Branch, where he received care from the team for five weeks.

He has subsequently been rehomed with three additional canines at a residence in Chevaune Houston.

In addition to a disqualification order, Chevaune Houston received a 12-month community order requiring 100 hours of unpaid labour.

The Bradford Bride of Frankenstein, Chevaune Houston, was instructed to remit costs amounting to £400 and a victim surcharge of £114.

It is strongly recommended that Chevaune Houston is not left unsupervised with children; no further details are available at this time.
