After a four-day Braxton County trial, jurors found Pedophiles Carl William “Bill” James and Robin Louise James guilty on several felony counts.

The case commenced on October 27, 2023, when Deputy Levi Cochran attended a neighbor’s residence following a child’s revelation of prolonged sexual assault.

The child remained in Carl James and Robin James’ “care” from the age of six to fourteen.

Following the conversation with the child, Deputy Cochran proceeded to the residence.

Upon entering, Cochran observed animal excrement and urine dispersed throughout the apartment, perforations in the floors and walls, and swarms of gnats and insects, resulting in an immediate arrest for felony severe child maltreatment.

Interviews conducted at the Tri-County Child Advocacy Centre led to supplementary charges.

Authorities apprehended Carl James on numerous charges of sexual assault and abuse, all pertaining to a minor under the age of 12.

Police additionally apprehended Robin Louise James on further charges of negligence for failing to safeguard the child, despite being informed of the abuse on three distinct occasions.

The court found Carl James guilty of six felony offences, including First Degree Sexual Assault, Sexual Abuse by a Parent or Guardian, and Gross Child Neglect.

Robin James was charged with four felony counts of Gross Child Neglect, three of which pertain to her failure to intervene.

Robin James’ sentencing hearing is scheduled for July 3, where she could receive a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Carl James confronts a potential sentence of 195 years in prison, contingent upon a mandated sex offender assessment.
