In January 2026, the British Transport Police (BTP) released a public appeal following an incident on a London District Line train. Officers are investigating an occurrence where a man touched himself inappropriately in the presence of a female passenger.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:20 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. The victim boarded an eastbound train at Barons Court, Greater London, and sat down. A man subsequently approached her and stood over her, making her feel uncomfortable. The man then sat nearby and began to touch himself inappropriately over his clothing while staring at the victim. Both the victim and the suspect exited the train at Victoria Station, Greater London.

British Transport Police have released CCTV images of a man they believe may have information that could assist with their enquiries. No arrest has been made at this stage of the investigation. BTP is urging anyone who recognises the individual in the images or who witnessed the behaviour to come forward.

The BTP has provided a text number (61016) and a phone number (0800 40 50 40) for witnesses, citing reference 700 of 26 November. Information can also be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers.

If identified, arrested, and convicted of an act of indecent exposure or outraging public decency, the offender would likely be required to register as a sex offender. Convictions for such offences on the transport network also typically result in Sexual Harm Prevention Orders (SHPOs), which can include bans from using specific rail lines or the entire Transport for London (TfL) network.
