In 2022, Brian Stott, a Leeds Paedophile who recorded himself sexually assaulting youngsters in his residence in Leeds, was incarcerated.

In January 2018, Brian Stott was apprehended on allegations of possessing indecent photos of minors after an extensive inquiry conducted by West Yorkshire Police.

Digital forensic specialists analysed several obscene photographs discovered on devices confiscated from his residence.

Brian Stott was subsequently apprehended on accusations of disseminating indecent photographs of minors.

Additional devices were analysed, uncovering many voyeurism charges employing a concealed camera that recorded ten minors and two adults, all of whom were identified and located by law enforcement officials.

Brian Stott was previously investigated in 2015 and charged with six charges, including the rape and sexual abuse of two minors.

He was acquitted following a trial in 2017.

However, in 2021, during a renewed inquiry, recordings and photographs depicting him sexually assaulting the two women were discovered on his devices.

Officers discovered photographs of Brian Stott perpetrating abuse on many other unidentified child victims. Investigations are ongoing to ascertain the identities of those children.

In July 2022, Brian Stott was indicted on 29 charges, including the rape of a child under 13, assault by penetration of a child under 13, sexual conduct with a child, 14 counts of voyeurism, the creation of indecent photos of children, and the distribution of indecent images of children.

He admitted to 28 charges and was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court to 20 years and three months of imprisonment, accompanied by an extended licence period of seven to nine months.

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lambert of Leeds District Safeguarding stated: “Brian Stott is a resolute predatory paedophile whose abhorrent record of physical abuse against these two vulnerable young girls, as well as other unidentified child victims, will have inflicted a profoundly significant traumatic impact on them.”

The extent and magnitude of his broader offences involving indecent photos of children and voyeurism, utilising various electronic devices and concealed cameras to record victims surreptitiously, presented a significant investigation challenge for Safeguarding investigators.

“Their extensive and meticulous efforts, aided by digital forensic specialists, were necessary to elucidate the entirety of Stott’s offences and establish his connection to them.”

Their meticulous efforts yielded compelling evidence that led to his admission of the charges.

“We anticipate that his conviction and the imposed prison sentence will offer some solace and assistance to the victims and their families as they progress with their lives.”

The safeguarding team expressed their hope that the “favourable resolution” of the case would motivate future victims to step forward.
