In 2024, the Offender Database reported that Benjamin Guiver, the Fishguard Rapist Sex Offender, who assaulted and sexually violated a woman in her residence, was punished at Swansea Crown Court.
Benjamin Guiver, then 35, entered the Goodwick residence late at night, where the woman had dozed off in the living room.
She awakened to find Benjamin Guiver in the chamber and fled the premises in terror.
Benjamin Guiver, after her, seized her by the hair, struck her, and forcefully slammed her face against the ground.
Benjamin Guiver forcibly pulled the woman into the house by her hair and thereafter sexually abused her.
A male relative entered the premises and pursued Benjamin Guiver outside, where Benjamin Guiver physically assaulted him by hitting and choking him prior to the arrival of the police.
Benjamin Guiver (DOB: 4/8/1989) pleaded guilty to the following offences in relation to the female victim:
- Causing GBH with intent
- trespass with intent to commit a sexual offence
- assault by penetration
- intentional strangulation
Benjamin Guiver also pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and intentional strangulation in relation to the male victim
All offences took place on 24 May 2024.
Jessie Walling of the CPS stated: “The physical and sexual violence perpetrated against this woman by an unknown assailant in her residence was abhorrent.”
The compelling evidence provided by the CPS led to admissions of guilt for grave offences. Both victims have exhibited remarkable courage, and we anticipate they will find solace in witnessing this perpetrator held accountable for his heinous crimes.
On 31 October 2024, Benjamin Guiver was sentenced to 20 years’ imprisonment at Swansea Crown Court, with the final five years to be served on licence.
Benjamin Guiver of Pembrokeshire, Wales, was additionally served with a restraining order.
