The Offender Database reported that alleged Paedophile Child Molester, Ashley Hookway, then 33, was on trial at Oxford Crown Court facing eight charges of child sexual assault, purportedly committed in the early 2000s.
Ashley Hookway is accused of sexually abusing a youngster, who was as young as five years old, during the period when Ashley Hookway was between 11 and 14 years of age.
The individual, now an adult, cannot be identified due to legal constraints. He initially reported the charges to law enforcement in late 2020.
Ashley Hookway, residing in Shaw Court, Aylesbury, has refuted the charges and is currently undergoing a trial anticipated to last four to five days.
At the commencement of the trial on Monday (July 29), it was revealed that most of the purported offences occurred while the defendant resided at a location in Witney.
The prosecuting lawyer stated: “The allegations initially arose when [the complainant] disclosed them to his mother at the age of seven or eight.”
“They were at the leisure centre swimming, and he communicated this to her, but no report was made to the police at that time.
In late 2020, he informed the authorities and was interviewed in another region on behalf of Thames Valley.
He informed the police regarding the claims. He reported being sexually molested from the age of five, with incidents occurring over the Easter and Summer holidays.
“He would fondle him, seize his buttocks, and insert his hand into his trousers.” Furthermore, he compelled him to insert his hand into his trousers.
Ashley Hookway stated it was acceptable but advised against disclosing it to others. He stated that it persisted for several years and concluded only when he informed his mother.
The prosecution alleges that Ashley Hookway removed his shirt and urged the complainant to do so.
A second complaint had Ashley Hookway claiming that the defendant encouraged him to touch his own genitals before allegedly touching Ashley Hookway’s as well.
Following the complainant’s notification to the police of the claims, Ashley Hookway participated in a voluntary police interview in March 2021 in Aylesbury.
He issued a prepared statement in which he refuted all the claims.
He subsequently responded with ‘no reply’ to the remaining enquiries directed at him.
On all charges, nevertheless, a twelve-strong jury cleared Mr Hookway.
Mr Ashley Hookway informed the jury throughout the trial that he was meant to be married but had to postpone it because of the trial.
“We had a couple of years to get married,” he remarked. We have had to postpone, sadly.
He skipped out of court.
